March - Day 1

Numbers 1-2 - This book provides the vast scope of what the Nation of Israel had become.  This fulfills the promise that God made to Abraham that he would make his family into a mighty nation so vast that would be more numerous than the stars in the sky.  In this passage, there were over 600k men old enough to fight (20 yrs and older), not including the Levites.  This nation was well over a million strong at this point.

Psalm 48 - Our God deserves our praise.  His love is unfailing. His mighty hand gives us victory. He is our guide. 

Matthew 21:23-32 - Jesus was questioned about his authority to teach and do miracles by the religious leaders.  He asked them about what authority John the Baptist baptized in and they didn't want to answer because it was a lose-lose for them at that point.  So he refused to answer their question in return.  He pointed out that many of the people they considered to be the worst sinners would get into the Kingdom of God because their faith was seen by their change of behavior.  Religious behavior isn't a sign of life change; right living is.  Living that honors God in all areas of our lives.  

Romans 1:1-17 - Paul is excited to spread the gospel in Rome.  he hopes through is visit, their faith will be encouraged and so will his.  He wants his spiritual gift to help the other believers grow in their faith.  This is the purpose of spiritual gifts - to build up and encourage other believers.
