November Day 1

Ezekiel 1-3 - God spoke to Ezekiel through visions.  God sent him to the Judean exiles to help them understand why God had allowed them to be taken captive and to give them hope despite the captivity that would last longer than they expected.  God would hold Ezekiel responsible for delivering God’s message to the people.  If he didn’t say what God told him to say, God would hold him accountable for the people continuing in sin.  Being a messenger for God comes with great responsibility.  

Job 1 - In Job’s suffering, he remained faithful to God in his initial reaction.  We must remember that the pain of life is evidence of evil in this world.  The enemy wants us to blame God and turn from him because of the pain and problems of this world.  We should pray that God will give us strength to respond as Job did here. 

John 7:37-44 - Jesus promised that those who believed in him would receive the Holy Spirit that would be a river that flows inside of us giving us life.

2 Peter 1:1-11 - After we receive Christ, we should continue in our journey of becoming more like him as we grow in our knowledge and obedience.  Our faith should produce the fruit of a changed life.
